Grand Prix New York Brings Art Studio For All Ages to Mt. Kisco

(GPNY) – the area’s leading indoor entertainment and team-building venue – celebrated its grand opening on September 20th, with a ribbon cutting and fun activities for family members of all ages. Nearly 100 people, including community leaders, art enthusiasts, families, and staff enjoyed food samples and beverages from GPNY’s Fuel Restaurant, as well as complimentary arts and crafts, games, raffles and prizes, while mingling and networking on Friday night and throughout the weekend.

“The Art Garage at Grand Prix in Mt. Kisco is a ‘must see’ for any parent looking for something fun to do with their child,” said Liane Fiore Rigano of Armonk. “I brought my 10-year-old son to the grand opening and he had a blast getting creative. He tie-dyed a t-shirt, made his own “Wish A Friend” stuffed animal, and decorated a (delicious!) cupcake. It was a really fun experience for both of us!”

Mt. Kisco Mayor J. Michael Cindrich; George Oros, Chief of Staff for County Executive Rob Astorino; NY State Assemblyman David Buchwald; and Westchester County Legislator Peter Harckham attended and made brief remarks recognizing GPNY’s continued success and commitment to the Mt. Kisco community.Mr. Oros presented Samantha Albright, who came up with the idea for the Art Garage, with a Certificate of Achievement.

“Grand Prix was always an amazing entertainment destination, but my daughter, who loves drawing and painting, recognized that the one thing missing was a place where kids and adults could go to explore their creative, artistic side," said Susan Albright, Samantha's mother and GPNY Board member. "It's wonderful to see her idea turned into this amazing new Art Garage. With so many options, it’s got something for everyone – and now Grand Prix truly has everything!”

The Art Garage, open for team-building events, parties for all ages, and walk-ins, offers paint your own pottery, jewelry making, tie dye, glass fusion, mosaics, and cake decorating, among other activities. In November, the Art Garage will release its class schedule, with offerings for children and adults, including: Art and Yoga, Cake Pop Decorating, Pinterest Comes True, Jewelry 101, Facial Fun Drawing, Wine-bottle and Waden-making. Another special new offering, coming soon, will be Glass Fusing Projects - precut glass pieces are stacked and glued in decorative patterns and then fired in a kiln where they become fused into one piece to create beautiful works of art. In addition, the Art Garage will add a monthly cupcake club, and themed movie nights.

“It’s exciting that the Art Garage has been so well-received, and that we’re already getting walk-in traffic, requests for parties and events, and hearing suggestions for new additions to make,” said GPNY Vice President Nat Mundy. “We always want Grand Prix to be a destination where families, friends and corporate groups can enjoy time together doing whatever it is they love, all under one roof.”

The Art Garage is the latest in a series of additions to GPNY offerings, including Spins Bowl, an expanded arcade and a world-class racing simulator. It is located within Grand Prix New York at 333 North Bedford Road in Mount Kisco, New York. For more information, call (914) 358-3611 or visit www.gpny.com/#!arts-garage/cllr.
