Grand Prix New York Sponsors SurvivetheDrive® Classes at Somers High School
Facility NewsGrand Prix New York doesn’t want our teens driving in the fast lane. The racertainment center, located in Mt. Kisco, NY, teamed up with the SurvivetheDrive® organization beginning in 2011 to help educate teenage drivers on safe driving techniques and the consequences of reckless driving. Since 1996 SurvivetheDrive®, a nonprofit organization and educational service, has provided risk-awareness and safe-driving presentations to schools and community groups.

“Grand Prix New York is proud to sponsor such an essential educational service for our teens,” said Nat Mundy, Vice president sales & marketing at Grand Prix New York. “We know how exciting and enjoyable it is to get behind the wheel, especially for new drivers. We want to make sure that teenagers learn how important it is to be a responsible and safe driver.”

Recently, Bob Green, director and trainer of SurvivetheDrive®, shared his knowledge of driver safety at Somers High School. Known for his enthusiastic and humorous presentations, Mr. Green provided students with examples of how powerful the impact of a car can be and why it is important to learn safe driving skills at an early age. Through personal anecdotes, PowerPoint slide shows, graphic demonstrations about the physics of driving and what happens during a crash, Mr. Green has truly been instrumental in teaching countless students about the safety, responsibility and consequences of driving.

“At SurvivetheDrive®, we strive to educate young drivers about the consequences of irresponsible driving habits and the significance of making safe choices on the road,” said Mr. Green. “Presenting our teens with the startling reality of what could happen when we don’t practice safe driving techniques is a great accident prevention tool.”
