Facility NewsChildren, families and developmentally disabled enjoy evening of bowling and arcade fun

Grand Prix New York the region’s premier “racertainment” venue – celebrated the launch of their newly expanded arcade at a special party for Abbott House, a social service agency dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children, adults and families.

Nearly 100 attendees – including youth from Abbott House Group Homes and county Therapeutic Foster Boarding Homes programs, disabled persons from the Services for Persons with Developmental Disabilities program, as well as Abbott House CEO Claude Meyers, Mt. Kisco Mayor J. Michael Cindrich and Business Council of Westchester representative Ebony White - enjoyed bowling, arcade games and simulated racing, as well as dinner and beverages, all courtesy of GPNY.

“This event was a wonderful opportunity for those we serve to have a fun night out, enjoy each other’s company and make new friends,” said Abbott House CEO Claude Meyers. “Nat Mundy of Grand Prix is the perfect example of the generous Westchester community that has done so much to support the important work of Abbott House. We are very proud to be celebrating our 50th anniversary of improving lives and strengthening communities in 2013; a milestone that would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the communities we serve.”

GPNY hosts more than 50 charitable events each year, and has raised thousands of dollars for not-for-profits in Westchester. GPNY has also donated $200,000 worth of products and services to charities and fundraisers.

“One of the best things about our success – which would not be possible without the support of the community – is now being able to give back,” said GPNY Vice President Nat Mundy. “It’s very rewarding to see kids and families here, enjoying themselves, carefree.
