KART 2 KART Adds Exciting New Flagship to Karting Fleet
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., Feb. 6, 2013 – Kart 2 Kart, Michigan’s premier indoor center for thrilling and safe karting action, announces the addition of Stratos Superkarts to its fleet. Custom made in the U.S.A., the new karts will bring Kart 2 Kart drivers as close as possible to the experience of real world road racing.
The new Stratos iS_13 Superkarts will be ready to drive, beginning Feb. 26 at Kart 2 Kart in Sterling Heights, Mich. The new racing karts are built in the United States and feature the latest in safety, performance and quality. Members of the news media are invited to test the new Kart 2 Kart flagship at a special luncheon, detailed below.
"After a meticulous vetting process which included testing several karts made around the world, I felt the reputation, safety, quality and craftsmanship of the Stratos Kart was the right product for our valued customers,” Tony Eckrich, owner and operator of K2K Karting, said. “The Kart 2 Kart team and I are very grateful for the opportunity to bring the best in karting to the residents of Sterling Heights and the communities of Southeast Michigan.”
Mr. Eckrich travelled across the United States to test karts from manufacturers from around the world before selecting the Stratos iS_13 kart. In addition to added safety, comfort and convenience, the new racer offers improvements in performance and handling. The vehicles also bring an increase in power and improvements in suspension, helping recreate the sensations enjoyed in full-size race cars.
The Stratos iS_13 features a Honda GX-200 engine that develops 6.5 horsepower. It features a complete surround-frame for driver and race safety. The 4130 chrome alloy frame wraps around the wheels in order to prevent vehicles from bumping and to increase driver safety.
In driving and in competition, drivers will enjoy the new kart’s road holding abilities, rated at 1.5 G. The Stratos iS_13 features adjustable aluminum tie-rods and a solid straight rear axle that simulates the true race car experience and handling.
Drivers also will enjoy a fully padded and sliding Tillet XXL seat. Adjustable foot pedals mean the new karts can accommodate drivers from 60-inches to 84-inches tall (five-feet to seven-feet tall).

Kart 2 Kart offers the latest in indoor racing technology in a safe, clean and authentic racing atmosphere. In addition to the new flagship Thunder Karts Stratos iS_13 Superkarts, Kart 2 Kart has a fleet of Junior Karts for young drivers 54-inches tall and two-seat karts for shorter kids.
The track is operated using the most current professional motor sports safety systems, including warning lights, soft barrier systems, enforced driving standards, and an automatic computerized lap timing system.
