As a small local business surviving the economic plunge, Xtreme also endured a two million dollar roof repair from Hurricane Wilma in 2009. But with over 8 million laps sold to date, Xtreme Indoor Karting speeds ahead as they not only celebrate 6 years on August 25, but proudly announce construction of a new facility in Khabarovsk (Хаба́ровск) , Russia!

The project started 18 months ago when Mulder was approached by NHL player, Alexander Mogilny, who suggested the idea of building Xtreme in Russia where he currently coaches a professional ice hockey team, Amur Khabarovsk. Now, Xtreme is scheduled to open November 1 in Khabarovsk which is the second largest city in Russian Far East and only 9 miles from the Chinese border.

Xtreme Khabarovsk will also be the first of its kind for their community with a 60,000 square foot facility featuring an indoor track that will be just over ¼ mile, laser tag, full liquor bar and restaurant also with party and conference rooms to accommodate business meetings and events. “The concept of teambuilding is a completely new idea to Russian business. ” says Mulder. “Xtreme will have the ability to introduce teambuilding and its many benefits to a new country!”

The four million dollar project will be modeled after the current Xtreme in Fort Lauderdale and will include construction of a free standing building in the city. Xtreme Khabarovsk will be purchasing much of the same equipment including European Bowman Arrow race karts, TecPro Barriers, Sacoa Sales system and arcade games from Primetime Amusements. Plus, current Xtreme team staffers from Fort Lauderdale will have the unique opportunity to travel to the Russian location and assist with the actual building of the track and train the workers. The Khabarovsk community is so excited about the American company opening that they will be filming the crew’s arrival.
