Trey Shannon to Attempt 24 Hour Indoor Karting World Record to Benefit Tourette Syndrome Association At The Pit Indoor Kart Track Mooresville, NC
Facility NewsTogether with the national Tourette Syndrome Association and The Pit Indoor Kart Racing, Racing for Tourettes is excited to announce Trey Shannon’s latest 24 hour challenge. Building upon his successful 24 hour outdoor Guinness World Record attempt in 2011, Shannon is now set to attack the 24 hour indoor record. On December 14, 2012, Trey will begin his attempt to set his second world record in as many years, with all money raised going directly to the national Tourette Syndrome Association.

As a member of the karting community who is affected by Tourette Syndrome, Trey is proud to be making his second world record attempt as a way to raise awareness of TS, and hopes to bring in some much needed funding for TS research. “I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to be attempting my second world record to benefit those afflicted by Tourette Syndrome. The TSA has managed to raise awareness by leaps and bounds since I got involved with them last year, and I hope that what I’m doing here can add to that growth. My attempt at the 24 hour outdoor record last year was a great success, but our goal for this one is to make it even bigger. I really have to thank all of my sponsors for their support, especially the great folks at The Pit for helping us put together this attempt. “

Everybody at The Pit is also very excited to host the world record attempt at their facility. Sales Manager Eric Essary expresses their enthusiasm about their involvement in this historic world record attempt. “The Pit Indoor Kart Racing is honored to be the track of choice for Trey to attempt his record setting 24 hour run. We look forward to witnessing Trey’s amazing feat, but most of all we hope to make this a successful event to benefit the Tourette Syndrome Association.”

Racing for Tourettes would also like to announce their partnership with several sponsors who have come on board to support this great event. RacelandINDY Motorports Development Group, design partner Oktane Visual, Axcel Sports, and The Pit have all been an integral part of Trey’s efforts and their support is greatly appreciated.
