Racing NewsLehigh Valley Grand Prix to Host 12-Hour Indoor Karting
Endurance Race

Jameson 12-Hour “Sine Metu (Without Fear)” Race is set for Monday, March 12, the week leading up to St. Patrick’s Day

Lehigh Valley Grand Prix, one of the premier indoor karting venues in the country, is holding a Jameson 12-Hour “Sine Metu (Without Fear)” Race on Monday, March 12, the week leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. The physically and mentally demanding gas-powered kart race will take place from 7:00am to 7:00pm and teams from all over America will converge to Allentown to take part.

“You will need more than the luck of the Irish to compete in the Jameson Sine Metu Endurance Race,” said Mike McCreary, partner of Lehigh Valley Grand Prix. “It takes driving skill and some serious mental fortitude to race for an hour or more at a time over 12 hours.”

Sponsored by Jameson Whiskey, the race will consist of 12 teams with 3-6 drivers per team. Each driver will compete for 45-to-90 minutes per stint. The Jameson 12-Hour Sine Metu Race is one of the premiere indoor karting events in the industry and this year marks its third anniversary. “Sine Metu” means “without fear” in Latin and was the motto of John Jameson, founder of the Jameson Distillery in Dublin, Ireland.

Indoor kart racing is quickly becoming a competitive field. Many outdoor drivers look to indoor karting to keep their skills sharp during the offseason while others use indoor karting as a less expensive and more convenient opportunity to get behind the wheel. According to Indoor Kart Report, indoor karting is one of the fastest growing motorsports in the United States. Lehigh Valley Grand Prix’s race sponsor, Jameson Whiskey, is further proof of the sport’s growth.

Team spots for the race are still available. Race participation is $800 per team of 3-6. Driver’s looking to participate can contact Lehigh Valley Grand Prix at 610-432-RACE (7223) or email competition@lehighvalleygrandprix.com.
