|
The Music Conservatory of Westchester in White Plains is coming to Mount Kisco to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its Music Therapy Institute next month—and everyone is invited to participate.
Its First Annual “Winterbowl” benefit is from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 23 at Spins Bowl, the new 19-lane bowling center at Grand Prix New York, a racing and entertainment space in Mount Kisco. It had originally been planned for November, but was rescheduled to this winter.
The Music Conservatory of Westchester is a nonprofit arts school offering music, music therapy and musical theatre programs for people of all ages and abilities. Programs include performing ensembles, musicianship classes, music therapy, student performances, master classes and workshops.
The celebration evening begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. following by a night of bowling, racing, food and live music featuring MCW students and faculty.
Here are comments from the press release:
“We are thrilled to celebrate our 25th anniversary by announcing the First Annual ‘Winterbowl’ in partnership with Grand Prix New York’s Spins Bowl,” said MTI Directors Dr. Tina Brescia and Lisa Sandagata. “We work with so many amazing children, adults, families, healthcare professionals, and teachers throughout the Westchester community and are excited to bring everyone together each year for a fun event to benefit MTI’s programming.”
The Conservatory’s MTI serves an ever-growing number of special needs children and adults through individual and small group sessions offered on-site and through numerous partnering agencies. MTI is the largest provider of professional music therapy services in the greater Westchester region, working with over 2,000 youth and adults each year.
“MTI’s approach to education and healing through art is so unique, it’s an honor for us to host their silver anniversary fundraiser in our one-of-a-kind facility,” said Nat Mundy, Vice President, Grand Prix New York/Spins Bowl. “Spins Bowl gives us another great venue in which we can continue to aid formidable and worthy non-profits, just as GPNY has been doing for years.”
“We hope this is the beginning of a long and rewarding relationship,” said Jon Chattman, Director of Communications for The Music Conservatory of Westchester. “It’s clear that Grand Prix New York and Spins Bowl have much to offer the community, as does our music programming, and we hope we’ll have the opportunity to host many fundraisers and events there in the future.”
Tickets for Winterbowl are $60 for adults, $50 for children 16 and under. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 914-761-3900 or go online .
