Keene Takes Lightweight Title; Jamin Dominates Heavyweight Class

Braintree, Mass (August 30, 2011) – F1 Boston wrapped up the 2011 Adult Summer League this Monday with the Final Championship Races. Five drivers ran in the Lightweight class and six competed in the Heavyweight division - both events featured two qualifiers and a main event on a joint track format to crown the Champs. Mark Keen won the Lightweight title after starting in the third position and Patrick Jamin came from the second start position to prevail among the Heavyweights. Here are some highlights from the action:

Lightweight
The Lightweight event was hotly-contested for the title. Mark Keene, who finished the regular season in 2nd place just a point behind champ Jose Pimental, overtook pole-sitter John Hintze to win by just 0.848 seconds. Keene got faster with each heat – finishing third in the first qualifier, second in the next heat and then prevailing in the main event. Hintze was also in the top three all night, with a first and a third in qualifiers. The competition for third was razor thin as well. Jay Dennehy took the final podium spot by just 0.334 seconds over Nicholas Leung – the regular season third place finisher.

Heavyweight
In the heavyweight class Robert Bain – who placed second in the regular season standings – took the checkered flag after starting in the second position. He was fast all night, placing second and a third in the heats. Patrick Jamin starting fourth on the grid took second place, as well as a second and a third in the qualifiers. John Chetwynd, who was third in the season long points chase, also took third in the finale.

Next up is the 2011 Adult Fall Frenzy Leagues which start on September 19.
